I’ve been practicing for several days my skills at capturing birds in flight in preparation for getting to go to the coast to see Whooping Cranes and other water fowls. My efforts have not been very successful for a number of reasons. For one, I swear the birds are watching me waiting for me to put down the camera before they soar from the limb I’ve focused on for five minutes. But today the mockingbirds were chasing each other probably as part of a spring ritual. You know, that birds and bees thing. This was my best shot and not even very good because the camera focused on the branch rather than the bird beyond it making me wonder how often do we focus on the wrong things missing the best part.
